The great outdoors are just a short dive away when you live in Santa Fe. With amazing hiking, skiing, mountain biking, and fishing within a half an hour it's no secret why Santa Fean's don't stay inside.
The Great Outdoors
  • Santa Fe National Forest - The Santa Fe National Forest is just fifteen minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza and offers a host of activities among its 1.6 million acres. Elevations range from 5,300 feet to 13,103 feet at the summit of Truchas Peak.
  • Pecos Wilderness - The Pecos Wilderness is arguably the most amazing and well known outdoor area in New Mexico. The wilderness is full of wildflower filled meadows, alpine lakes, aspen groves, and abundant wildlife. The wilderness is 223,667 acres of some of the most unspoiled land in the world.
  • Dale Ball Trail System - Opened just a few short years ago, the Dale Ball Trails offer hiking and mountain biking within five minutes of the plaza.
  • Golf - The Santa Fe area is now host to a number of great golf courses including: Black Mesa, Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe, Cochiti, Towa, Santa Fe Country Club, Las Campanas, and Quail Run.
  • Skiing - Skiing has become synonymous with Santa Fe with Ski Santa Fe within twenty minutes of the plaza and Taos Ski Valley within an hour and a half.
